Tuning into God with the Grand-Central radio show
Story shared by Tim Huff, Compassion Series: Team Lead
January marks a little over one year of Tim Huff sharing stories on the Grand-Central radio show.
It has been so encouraging to see grandparents and grandfriends tune in and learn from Tim and his guests throughout the more than 65 episodes that have aired so far. The show is available on JOY radio and on the Grand-Central podcast page so listeners can tune in at any time.
Laughter, tears and plain good old story sharing are the key bits of every episode. And, as Tim has already seen through conversations with listeners, the conversations have been resonating with those who tune in.
A grandmother reached out who said she was a regular listener and wanted to tell Tim how thankful she was for the show. She loved the Grand-Central goals to “honour, inspire and help resource grandparents on their journey of goodness.” After contributing so much of her life to others, the church, and ministry in her pre-senior years, she said she was feeling like the world at-large was less caring about the significance of her role now as a grandmother.
She knew the show is an initiative of Youth Unlimited, but did not know that Youth Unlimited is in-fact Youth For Christ. Well, when she found that out, she was thrilled because many, many decades ago she became a Christian at a YFC rally. That realization was a moment of full-circle goodness for her. She was overjoyed that YFC sees the value of grandparents in helping shape and impact child and youth culture.
